    The shimmering saree is conceived as an ode to the Mughal Zenana miniatures — exquisitely detailed paintings that once chronicled the secluded, lyrical world of the imperial harem, where poetry, music and feminine grace flourished behind carved palace walls.

    Its mural-like pallu unfolds like an heirloom painting brought to life; towering domes and minarets rise amidst palms and cypress groves while handmaidens gather around their mistress in languid repose. Rendered in a sophisticated interplay of Persian romanticism, Indian artistry and faint European influences, the tableau evokes the splendor of an imagined royal garden suspended somewhere between memory and myth.

    Above the royal garden, swirling cloudscapes dissolve into a field of sequins and scattered blooms that glimmer across the length of the saree like moonlight caught upon water.

    An embroidered choli, flourishing with lotus blossoms that delicately frame her visage completes her look - a portrait of quiet majesty, femininity and old-world allure.
